Volkswagen has achieved a new efficiency milestone at the Nardò circuit in southern Italy.
An ID.7 Pro S, equipped with a standard technology package and a 282-hp (210 kW) powertrain, covered an impressive 585 miles (941 kilometers) on a single 86 kWh battery charge.
This remarkable distance surpasses the model’s maximum WLTP range (combined) of up to 441 miles (709 kilometers) by 144 miles (232 kilometers), or 32.7 percent.
During this journey, the ID.7 Pro S exhibited an exceptionally low average consumption of just 9.2 kWh/62 miles, equivalent to approximately 1 liter of diesel per 62 miles (100 km).

The 8-mile (12.5 kilometers) circuit simulated a variety of traffic scenarios and endurance tests, with an average speed of 18 mph (29 km/h), reflecting typical rush hour conditions in major cities.
According to the latest “Traffic Index” from TomTom, this speed range is comparable to cities like Hamburg (22 km/h) and Amsterdam (31 km/h).

The ID.7 Pro S, designed as a series production model for maximum efficiency, boasts some of the highest ranges in its class of electric vehicles.
The test vehicle, sourced from current production at the Emden electromobility plant, was not modified for the test. Its impressive efficiency is attributed to superior aerodynamics and a state-of-the-art drive system.
The vehicle's drag coefficient is a low 0.23 (depending on equipment), and the innovative APP550 drive system is both powerful and economical.
The electric motor integrated into the rear axle generates a maximum torque of 545 newton metres, allowing the ID.7 to achieve an official WLTP cycle consumption between 16.2 and 13.6 kWh/62 miles, and accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in a sporty 6.6 seconds.

The ID.7 models are gaining popularity in Europe, with positive trends in incoming orders. Both the ID.7 Saloon and ID.7 Tourer variants are ideal for families and long-distance drivers, offering ample space and a high level of comfort with impressive all-electric ranges.
Martin Sander, a member of the Board of Management responsible for Sales, Marketing, and After Sales at Volkswagen, stated,
“We are seeing a positive trend in incoming orders in Europe and are currently selling more ID.7 models than Passat. This shows that the ID.7 is a meaningful all-electric addition to the brand’s product portfolio and, in addition to our successful Passat, is also suitable for long-distance drivers and as a company car.”
This new milestone underscores Volkswagen’s commitment to advancing electric vehicle technology and delivering outstanding efficiency and performance to its customers.
