The ‘lone wolf’ Mazda CX-5 will see its third generation by 2025, according to recent reports.

CX-5 Fans have been wondering if it is retirement time for the competitively priced CX-5 small SUV after watching fellow old-timers like the CX-7 and CX-9 morph into the CX-70 and CX-90, and even the introduction of the Mazda CX-50.

The CX-5 is the last Mazda SUV to still rock the “oldie” name and reports has it that the Japanese automaker has no plans to retire the last man standing.

According to the Australian automotive website Drive, Mazda has confirmed it is working on a third-generation CX-5 to be sold alongside the CX-50 and CX-90.

As big-name automakers push towards an eclipse of electrification by 2025, Mazda has just two electrified vehicles in its portfolio currently, the electric MX-30 and CX-90 PHEV.

So, the CX-5’s continuity is good news for Mazda fans, and the next-gen CX-5 is highly likely to introduce a hybrid powertrain along with a new engine, considering the company need to catch up with the EV revolution and has already said it plans to roll out three EVs, five hybrids, and four plug-in hybrids by 2025.

Mazda has recently confirmed that it will be releasing a next-generation CX-5, which is expected to hit the market in the coming years.

The announcement has generated a lot of excitement among car enthusiasts eagerly anticipating the release of the new model.

One of the most significant changes expected in the new CX-5 is the introduction of a new engine. While the current model is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine, the new model is expected to feature a more powerful and efficient engine.

Mazda has not yet confirmed the exact specifications of the new engine, but experts predict that it will offer a significant improvement over the current model.

Another area where the new CX-5 is expected to see significant improvements is in its technology features.

Mazda has been investing heavily in new technologies in recent years, and the new CX-5 is expected to benefit from these investments.

Rumors suggest that the new model will feature a more advanced infotainment system, as well as a range of advanced safety features. Despite these rumored improvements, Mazda has been tight-lipped about the details of the new CX-5.

The company has not yet released any official images or specifications for the new model, and it is unclear when these details will be made available.

However, industry experts predict that the new CX-5 will be well worth the wait for Mazda fans. The confirmation of a next-generation CX-5 is welcome news for Mazda, which has been struggling to keep up with its competitors in recent years.

With the new model, Mazda is hoping to regain its position as a leader in the compact SUV segment. While details about the new CX-5 are still scarce, car enthusiasts are already eagerly anticipating its release and the potential improvements it will bring.
