Renowned aftermarket tuning company, Saleen, began rolling out special editions of the Ford Mustang from the 5th generation in 2007, codenamed the S302-PJ. Saleen upgraded the stock Ford 4.6L 3V V8 engines to a larger 5.0L displacement with high compression. These models are now known as Saleen 302 CID or S302, with the suffixes indicating the custom options.
