American Honda kicked off the new calendar year by unveiling its latest range of sport side-by-sides, presenting seven versions in both two- and four-seat configurations. 

Since its debut in 2019, the Honda Talon has served as a robust platform for off-road enthusiasts, adept at conquering diverse terrains. 

The X versions are designed for wooded two-track adventures, while the R iterations are primed for rugged desert trails.

What Is The Honda Talon 1000?

The Honda Talon 1000 series represents Honda's foray into the high-performance side-by-side (SxS) market, competing directly with other sport-oriented SxS vehicles designed for off-road excitement.

The two-seater Talon comes in two primary configurations—the agile 1000X, excelling in tight technical terrain, and the 1000R, designed for high speeds and open terrain. Both the Talon 1000R and Talon 1000X are available with intelligent FOX Live Valve technology, featuring adaptive suspension capabilities. 

A noteworthy addition for 2024 is the non-Live Valve Talons equipped with premium Showa suspension. This enhancement, stemming from a close collaboration between Honda and Showa engineers, focuses on elevating ride comfort and rebound control while preserving the shocks’ resistance to bottoming out, particularly during more significant impacts. 

Honda has confirmed that the 2-seater Talon 1000 versions will be available by February 2024. 

Overview Of The 2024 Talon 1000 Four-Seat Models

Introduced in 2020, the Talon 1000 four-seat platform has empowered owners to include more family and friends in their off-road escapades, thanks to a rear seating area renowned for unparalleled passenger comfort and visibility. 

The 2024 Talon 4-seater variants broaden the appeal of Honda’s high-performance side-by-side (SxS) offerings and deliver as much exhilarating and reliable riding experience as with its 2-seat cousins – with the added benefit of accommodating more passengers. 

The  4-seat Honda Talon 1000 models for 2024 include the Talon 1000X-4, Talon 1000R-4, Talon 1000X-4 FOX Live Valve, and the Talon 1000R-4 FOX Live Valve. The X-4 is designed with agility in mind, suitable for narrow, winding trails, while the R-4, on the other hand, is built for wider open areas and is more focused on high-speed stability and comfort over rough terrain. 

These models extend the chassis of their 2-seater counterparts to accommodate the extra row of seating. 

As stated earlier, both 2-seat and 4-seater versions get motivation from the 999cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine mated to Honda's Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT), providing a sporty riding experience with the added benefit of choosing between automatic and manual shifting modes. 

The 4-seat Honda Talon 1000 will also be available in February 2024.
